ASHLEY BENITEZ
Hi! I’m Ashley! Founder and Owner of Your Devoted Doula.
The work I do as a doula and the support I bring to families, altered tremendously once I experienced my own life-changing journey into motherhood. Becoming a new parent was both extraordinarily transformational as well as extraordinarily challenging. To add to the already present uncertainties of motherhood, my little one was born during quarantine, contributing even more to the stress of parenthood. During my postpartum experience, I learned to lean on the amazing village I built around me for support, guidance, and to share a few tears along the way with.
Having that tribe of love around me was absolutely crucial to my transition into parenthood. This invaluable support system inspired me to change how I build that village for others.
I am passionate about creating non-judgmental, safe spaces for families to encourage and serve parents during their transition into parenthood. I understand that each family is different and what “help” may look like to them can vary tremendously. It’s important that support be customized to fit the needs of the primary caretaker and baby. I am always learning how to better support infants and parents and I believe my practical approach and compassion contributes to my success as doula.
I trained as a postpartum doula with CAPPA, however, my love for babies and my care-taking services started long before that having worked with children in many capacities throughout my life.
Any parent can tell you that sleep deprivation and newborn/toddlerhood go hand-in-hand. However, we, as parents, often resort to sleep routines that are a temporary fix in the moment, but result in bad habits in the end. That is why I am also passionate about teaching parents to create healthy sleep habits for their children and helping them sleep through the night. I received my certification for sleep coaching through the Pediatric Sleep Management Center and have been helping families get their “z’s” in ever since.
My goal is to help parents navigate and find their own voice and strengths as they transition into their new role and build skills they can utilize during their journey through parenthood.
It takes a village!
